Robert Howard Reed, Jr.

November 16, 1947 – February 23, 2021

 

On February 23, 2021, Robert Howard Reed, Jr., of Montrose, Colorado, passed away at the age of 73 after a long battle with cancer. He was born to parents Bob and Minnie Reed in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Graduating from Fountain-Ft. Carson High School, he later went on to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam era.

Over his lifetime, Reed was employed as a bookkeeper, handyman, driver, and garage door installer. He most recently volunteered as a guide at the Museum of the Mountain West in Montrose. Bob will always be remembered for his love of fishing, ghost hunting, fresh pots of coffee, and landscape photography. He is survived by two daughters, Joy and Donna, a son, Robert, and many grandchildren.

Bob will be interned at Pikes Peak National Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Bob’s name be made to the Museum of the Mountain West at www.museumofthemountainwest.org.
