Robert Michael Dunaway, age 68, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on January 15, 1951 in Iowa City, Iowa to Marion and Grace Dunaway. Robert grew up in the Denver and Colorado Springs area and attended Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
He met his beloved wife, Darlene, in Van Buren, Arkansas and married on December 20, 1986.
Robert was a well-rounded man. Not only did he do general contract work remodeling homes, but he also worked for Dunkin Donuts for years traveling and overseeing the opening of new stores. He also worked as a tugboat captain on the Arkansas River. Everything Robert did, he did with perfection.
He is preceded in death by his father, Marion “Bob” Dunaway and his mother, Grace Dunaway.
Robert is survived by his wife Darlene Dunaway of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter Shannon Workman (Arthur) of VanBuren, Arkansas; granddaughters Brittney Courter of Lavaca, Arkansas, Amber Workman of Corpus Christi, Texas; great-grandaughter Zaela Workman of Lavaca, Arkansas; cousins Dave and Sharon Cade of Broomfield, Colorado; sister-in-law Onita Robertson (Don) of Oshkosh, Nebraska.
