Mary Jo J. Nicholson

June 4, 1954 – August 8, 2020

 

Mrs. Mary Jo J. Nicholson, age 66, peacefully passed away at home on Saturday, August 8, 2020, while surrounded by family in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

She was born on June 4, 1954 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to John David and Marion Elisabeth Fandel. Mary Jo grew up in St. Cloud, graduating from Apollo High School and then attending college. She was a bit adventurous at times. Mary Jo enjoyed hiking and exploring new trails. She also enjoyed swimming, needlepoint and other hobbies.

On October 11, 1979 Mary Jo married James Nicholson in Colorado Springs. The two of them made Colorado Springs their home. They shared many wonderful years together. Her husband James and their son Ryan will miss her every day.

Mary Jo is survived by her husband James; her son Ryan; and her twin sister Beth. She will be remembered as a loving mother, a caring wife and a strong woman who deeply loved her family.

Mary Jo always had a positive attitude, no matter what she was up against. She even battled leukemia and kept her positive outlook. At times she even comforted those around her. She was always concerned about other people versus being concerned for herself. The world is a little less bright without her light. She will be missed by anyone who ever knew her.
