In Loving Memory of Martin Thomas
Martin Melvin Thomas, age 51, passed away peacefully at home on September 3, 2019. He was born on January 10, 1968 in Denver, Colorado to Clint and Carolyn Thomas. When he was younger, he was known as Marty, but in his teens started being called Thomas. Throughout his life many were unsure if Marty, Martin or Thomas was his first name, so he answered to them all. Thomas grew up in Cortez and Denver where he met the love of his life, Laura, and they were married in Denver in 2001. The two eventually made their way to Colorado Springs, starting their family there and calling it home for the past 15 years.
Thomas was always up for a good laugh with family and friends and he loved being a dad. He was a Christian man who valued tradition. He worked hard and whether he was cooking at a restaurant, moving and hauling, working on cars, building computers, or doing assembly work, he took great pride in what he did. He had great attention to detail and always produced quality work, but mostly he enjoyed being part of a team and working with friends. His most recent job at Bal Seal was one of the best. In his free time, he loved listening to heavy metal music, as well as making music himself as both a drummer and guitarist. Thomas enjoyed other things such as attending Karate with his son, watching horror movies, science fiction, comic books, cats, playing D&D or Magic the Gathering, reading a good book, watching Jeopardy and Halloween.
Thomas is preceded in death by his father, Clint; his mother, Carolyn; and his brother. He is survived by his wife and their son as well as many others including, stepfather, sister, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will forever be missed by all who knew and loved him.
