In Loving Memory of Mark Johnson

 

Mark Anthony Johnson, age 61, passed away on May 25, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  He was born September 18, 1959 in Frankfurt, Germany to Maude Phyree and Jesse Lee Johnson. He grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado and attended Mitchell High School.

Mark joined the U.S. Marine Corps and was ranked as a Gunnery Sergeant. He was a dedicated Marine for eight years. After serving his Country, Mark continued working hard for a Steel Company, building bird cages, and working for the Cable Company, Time Warner Comcast.

He met his wife, Terri, at “The Bean Bandit” and the two were later married on July 16, 2005. When he wasn’t hard at work or taking care of his family, Mark enjoyed a little outdoor time fishing for sturgeon on the Columbia River and water skiing. He also had a great love for Nascar and was a huge fan of Dale Earnhardt.  He even had a Dale Earnhardt intimidator black Monte Carlo. There was a softer side to Mark.  He was known as “The Bird” man and he loved his Kitty “Willie”, who happened to be daddy’s baby.  Mark will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.

Those gone before him include his mother, Maude Phyree Johnson; his father, Jesse Lee Johnson; and his brother, Ronald Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Terri; his children, Tammi, Shawn, John, Danielle, and Ronnie; his grandkids, Eli, Brook, Donnie, Chance, Kainon, and Madison; and his sister, Carolyn who lives in Arlington, Texas.

There will be a Service held on Monday, June 14th at 9:00 am at Pikes Peak National Cemetery located at 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
