In Loving Memory of Marjorie Frances Pawlak

Marjorie Frances Pawlak, 86, passed away on February 7th, 2019, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on December 3rd, 1932, to Paul and Pauline Lamich (Pawlik). Marjorie grew up in the Chicago area where she met and married her husband, Mike, on May 10th, 1952. Together the couple had four children and several grandchildren in Chicago before they eventually relocated to Colorado Springs. Marjorie continued to travel back to Illinois to visit her children, grandchildren, and friends. Yet she always returned to Colorado because she loved her mountains and enjoyed spending time here with additional family and friends.

First and foremost a homemaker, in Illinois Marjorie also worked in retail sales, and in Colorado as a volunteer for daycare centers. She loved being around and working with children and said they kept her young. An animal lover, some of her favorite hobbies were watching the many birds and wildlife that visited her yard and travelling to zoos and parks all over the country. She also enjoyed taking pictures, gardening, and most of all, talking and visiting with family and friends. Her family was the most important thing to her.

An adventurous spirit and love of travel enabled her to accomplish her bucket list – Marjorie visited Hawaii (twice!) and Las Vegas and rode in a hot air balloon. She also traveled extensively through the US and enjoyed trips to Phoenix and California. In addition, Marjorie was able to ride a horse and hold a baby tiger cub, which were things she had also wanted to do.

Marjorie remains beloved Mother to Linda (Frank), Sue (Vance), Amy (Rick), and daughter-in-law Barb; Grandmother to Sheila, Candice (Rob), Frank, Ryan (Pat), and Maggie; and Great-grandmother to Raya. Marjorie is also predeceased by her husband Mike, son Dave, sister Audrey, and brothers Tom, Bob, and Danny.

Per Marjorie’s request, there will be no services. She will be greatly missed by all of her family, friends, and her special Great-Granddog Olea. She will also be forever loved.
