In Loving Memory of Marie Kempf

Marie Louise Kempf, age 79, passed away August 30, 2018 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Marie had called Colorado Springs home for over 11 years. She was born to Joseph E. & Alice Dorothy LaNoce on April 8, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York.  Marie grew up in Ozone Park, New York. After graduating High School she became a Nun with the Sisters of St. Dominic in Amityville, New York. After 13 years of service her calling was now to have a family and she left the nun hood. She enjoyed continued education at New York State University and her work as a Math teacher for over 30 years. She taught 6th, 7th and 8th grade math over the years in the Diocese of Rockville Centre and the Diocese of Brooklyn. Marie had a love for teaching and always went above and beyond for her students.

Marie sang for many years with the Sweet Adeline’s on Long Island New York. Singing and music was her passion.  Her Favorite movie of all time was The Sound of Music.

Marie met John Kempf at a dance club in Brooklyn, New York. They married on October 11, 1970 and lived in Valley Stream, New York until 2007 where she retired with her husband John to Colorado Springs, Colorado. They shared a love for travel and have been all over the world on land as well as at sea on cruises.  When not traveling they enjoyed spending time with family, Fine dining, road trips into the mountains as well as Casino life on the slot machines.

She was preceded by her husband, Husband, John Kempf in 2011.

Marie is survived by her daughter Karen Femia and Son-in-law Vincent Femia Jr; Son, John Kempf; her beloved grandchildren, Joseph, Nicholas, and Lianna; one sister Doris Breitfeller and many friends.

The family held a private Catholic service Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the Return to Nature Funeral Home parlor.
