In Loving Memory of Kristin Estes

Kristin (Hage) Estes left this world far too soon on November 8, 2018. She was 29. A native of Paducah, Kentucky, she had lived in Colorado for three years.

Kristin was born May 15, 1989 in Paducah. She grew up there, attending Lone Oak High School, West Kentucky Community and Technical College, and Murray State University, eventually receiving an Associate Degree in Nursing and becoming a Licensed Nurse Practitioner. It was there, too, that she met Josh, the love of her life; they married on September 12, 2015. You could take the girl out of Kentucky, but you could never take Kentucky out of the girl.

She was an adventurer: she dipped her feet in both the Atlantic and the Pacific. She stood on top of a mountain and a super volcano. She jumped out of a plane to skydive. She loved to get lost in a forest of redwoods and marvel at the massive sequoias.

Kristin literally saved lives at Overture Colorado as their health services coordinator. Once, possibly twice, she caught discrepancies and mistakes that, had they gone unnoticed, would likely have killed her patient. She was going to school to get her RN (registered nurse) and continue her education to further her career in health care.

She was also an amazing wife, and her husband Josh’s best friend. They did everything together, joined at the hip, the two of them against the world. They were always working and striving to better themselves and each other. They loved to work hard, and play hard together, traveling and hiking with their two huskies, Juno and Mulder, all around Colorado and the surrounding areas. She loved nature, dogs, and people. Kristin and Josh’s dream was to travel the world together.

Kristin is survived by her husband, Josh Estes, her parents, Dan Hage and Sandy Morrow; her twin brother, Kurtis Hage; her father- and  mother-in-law, Jeff and Julie Estes; her brother-in-law, David Estes; and her four-legged family, Juno and Mulder.

A celebration of Kristin’s life will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Return to Nature Chapel West, 11 North 22nd Street, Colorado Springs 80904. We plan to dress in bright colors to celebrate the bright spot she was in so many lives.
