Kathy F. McDevitt

December 2, 1961 – October 20, 2022

 

Kathy F. McDevitt passed away in her home, surrounded by family, on October 20th, 2022 after a courageous battle with HER2+ breast cancer. She was 61 years old. Born December 2nd, 1961 in Chattanooga, TN to Glenn and Barbara Jane (Wattenbarger) Foster. Kathy graduated from Spring Valley High School in Columbia, SC in 1979. She met the love of her life, Frank McDevitt, and they were married on June 27th, 1988 in Colorado Springs, CO. Together, they lovingly raised two sons.

Predeceased by her father Glenn Foster and father-in-law, John McDevitt. She is survived by her loving husband Frank McDevitt, mother Barbara Foster, mother-in-law Marion McDevitt, brother Glenn Foster, sisters Glenda Griffith and Pam Wells and her devoted children Christopher (Catherine) Hicks and John (Clint) McDevitt. Oma will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Sadie and Jack Hicks.

Kathy was a lover of nature who had a beautiful garden. She also had a fondness for animals, especially her cats Sasha, Spaz and Kitty. She was dedicated to her family, who was the center of her world. She had the ability to see the beauty in everyday things like clouds and fossils in rocks. On the weekends, Kathy could often be found at her favorite places Manitou Springs or by the Arkansas River in Cañon City.

She will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her for her giving heart and warm smile.
