In Loving Memory of Jim Ramsey
Jimmie Dale “Jim” Ramsey went peacefully to his heavenly resting place on Thursday, March 8, 2018. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jackie; his parents, Fred Sr. and Urilla; and his siblings, Margaret Meier, Virginia Serracino, Fred Ramsey Jr., Sam Ramsey. Jim and Jackie had two
children, Taren (Roger) Mantz and Neil (Julie) Ramsey; three grandchildren, Ryan (Cassy) Rutledge, Tyler Ramsey and Rachael Ramsey; and one great-grand-child, Max Rutledge.
Jim was born May 27, 1939, to Fred Sr. and Urilla Ramsey. He was next to the youngest of seven children and the only one to stay on and eventually run the family farm and ranch in Boone, Colo. Jim married his bride of 55 years, Mary Jacqueline “Jackie” Earhart, on Feb. 14, 1957. While raising his family and running a successful farm and ranch business, Jim also worked for the CF&I Steel Mill in Pueblo for 30 years. Jim had many interests throughout his life, first and foremost, his grandchildren. Racing cars, racing horses, playing recreational basketball, hunting and going to Cripple Creek were next among his favorites. He was looked up to by many and respected by all who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 16, at Heritage Baptist Church, 2122 Overton Road, Pueblo. Lunch and fellowship immediately following at the church. Condolences may be sent to his children at P.O. Box 173, Boone, CO 80615. If you prefer, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charitable cause in Jim’s name.
