Jeanne Akiko VonRiesen passed away November 16, 2018 in Colorado Springs. Colorado Springs was her home for the last 14 years. Jeanne was born to Taro and Fusae Ohashi and grew up in San Francisco, California. She graduated George Washington High School and attended City College of San Francisco. Jeanne met her husband Greg VonRiesen in San Francisco. They spent 30 wonderful years together. She loved travel from simple day trips to vacations throughout the United States and Europe. Jeanne loved music and dance. She had dance training and a great collection of beautiful music. Her favorite song was Imagine by John Lennon. Jeanne loved and had many pets throughout her life. She donated often to animal charities. Jeanne was a talented gardener who knew and cared for every plant. Her favorite cat Chatsworth would accompany her in the garden. Jeanne was interested in history and especially that of the southwest. She collected art glass, pottery and paintings. She led with her heart. Jeanne will be dearly missed.
Jeanne is survived by her loving husband Greg VonRiesen of Colorado Springs, Colorado, brother Victor Ohashi Rancho of Santa Margarita, California, sister-in-law Ikuko Ohashi of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, sister Mirako Ogata of Tampa, Florida, sister Frances Ohashi of San Francisco, California, Mother-in-law Catherine VonRiesen of Cheyenne, Wyoming, brother-in-law Mike VonRiesen of Omaha, Nebraska, sister-in-law Karen VonRiesen of Cheyenne, Wyoming, brother-in-law Bart Duffy of Cheyenne, Wyoming, sister-in-law Des Dodd of Omaha, Nebraska, nephew Kenneth Ohashi of Irvine, California, niece Catherine Ohashi-Yoo of LaDera Ranch, California, nephew Calib Dodd of Denver, Colorado; niece Christine Hanusek of Omaha, Nebraska and nephew Micah Hanusek of Omaha, Nebraska.
