In Loving Memory of James Bruggeman
James Edward Bruggeman, age 73, passed away September 15, 2018 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born June 3, 1945 to Clayton Joseph and Margaret Anne (Moors) Bruggeman in Revannah, Ohio. James grew up in Williston, North Dakota and Sidney, Montana, graduating from Sidney High School in 1964. He worked in restaurant management, automotive sales and from July of 1982 through 2013 he solds parts for OK Implement and NAPA Auto Parts Stores in Watford, North Dakota.
He was a huge family man that showed great loyalty. He was always making jokes and putting a smile on the face of others. James loved to laugh and to make those around him smile. He loved his family more than anything in the world. When his grandson Dami was born him and Marie fought over who would get to go see him in the NICU first. For such a quiet man, no one would interfere with his family!
He was also a big fan of Days of Our Lives. He began watching it when he was a young boy sitting in the living room with his mother. When Holly was stationed in Germany he would write letters to her to update her on what was happening on the show. When Tina had to let him know that she was pregnant with Kira he had only one thing to say, “You know a guy could get into a lot of trouble for something like that!” Tina & Rhonda quickly left to let things settle down, but Todd decided to brave it and finish watching the football game with him. Luckily the Vikings won, and Todd was off the hook! When he would pick up the girls for a visit he would always ask if Arnie was on guard as he drove into Arnegard. Eventually Tina stopped searching for Arnie as she got older.
He was preceded by his parents Margaret & Clayton Bruggeman; and his nephews Steve Burkhardt, Joseph Marman and Damon McLaughlin.
James is survived by his children Holly (Tim) Bouma, Rhonda Bourne, & Tina (Todd) Kostad; grandchildren Bobby (Kaeley) Brown, Dillon (Kristina Loomis) Brown, Kira Kostad, Angelyn Kostad, Brindin Kostad, Cassi Bouma, & Jaxson Kostad; great-grandchildren Caidyn, Damien, Kallie, Asher, and Camden.
