In Loving Memory of Jacob Robert Coates

Jacob Robert Coates passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019 in Colorado Springs at the young age of 11.  He was born on January 30, 2008 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Danial Eugene Coates and Connie Diane Coates.  Jacob was a true Colorado Native.

Even for such a young man, Jacob knew the meaning of hard work and living for God.  He received many awards, some of which included the Presidential Fitness Award and the Pathfinder Evangelism Award.  He took great pride in belonging to the Pathfinders Youth Group at Central Seventh Day Adventist Church. It was Jacob’s nature to help others, particularly his parents.  He loved helping his dad with handyman work and mowing lawns and landscaping.  When he finally took a little time for himself, you would find him on a basketball court, on a football field, or out riding his bike.  He loved being outdoors.

Jacob is preceded in death by his grandfather (Papa) Robert Rice and his uncle Bob Rice.

He is survived by his parents, Connie and Danial Coates of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandparents, Robert Coates of Lamar, Colorado and Kathryn Rice of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother, Thomas Coates of Grand Junction, Colorado; sister, Jessica Brown of Carlsbad, New Mexico; nephew, Orion Brown; niece, Brooke Brown; and many cousins including, James Bangert, Chelsey, Matthew, and Daniel Germann, Stephanie and Stephen Barker, Michelle and Nichole Nelson, Nature, Fey, and Sage Hermance, Zachariah Delinger, and Starlee Giovaccanni.
