In Loving Memory of Harry James Ramirez

Harry James Ramirez, age 71, passed away on May 2, 2018, in Colorado Springs.

A Colorado native, Harry was born in Trinidad, Colorado on May 23, 1946, to Maria Martha Cordova and Rojerio Ramirez. He graduated from Harrison High School in 1964, where he met his wife, Sue, in his senior year.  They were married October 23, 1965.

Harry worked for Pike’s Peak Greenhouses in the 1960’s.  In the seventies, he worked as a cook in his Mother’s restaurant, the Chipita Garden Inn.  During the 80’s he studied electronics and became a technical engineer. Harry worked hard to support his family, finally retiring in 2003.

In his spare time, he loved sneaking away for fishing.  He showed his love and generosity through his great cooking. His home gardens produced in abundance every year.  Those who knew Harry best called him Mr. Fix-It.  From cars to microwaves to toys, he could tinker with almost anything and get it back in working order.

Harry’s memory lives in the hearts of many, especially his wife, Susan; his sons, Harry, Jr. and Joseph; his daughters, Robin Ramirez-Chavez and Mary Ramirez-LeBrun; his grandchildren, Miguel Hoffman; Lana Ramirez; Antonia, Robert and Ella Chavez; and Layla and Lilly LeBrun; his great-grandchildren, K’Mani Ramirez and J’Zarah Ramirez Couch; and his sisters, Louise Jacoby, January Hinkle and Veronica Hemmingson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his children, Ronald, Tobin and Timothy.
